Sum Of Perfect Powers
August 31, 2018
I think this must be somebody’s homework:
Write a program to determine if a number x can be written as the sum of two perfect powers. This is, given x determine if there exist non-negative integers a, b, m and n such that am + bn = x where 1 ≤ x ≤ 106 and m > 1 and n > 1.
Your task is to write a program that determines if a number is a sum of two perfect powers. When you are finished, you are welcome to read or run a suggested solution, or to post your own solution or discuss the exercise in the comments below.
